27 - 28 April 2020, Zagreb - Informal Meeting of Employment and Social Policy MinistersThe European Union faces significant changes in the world of work and a number of demographic and social challenges, which are further fuelled by the globalization process. Negative demographic trends, lack of skills needed for the job market of the future, imbalances between work and private life, and underrepresentation of women in the labour market all require quality solutions. The ministers' discussion will be focused on finding solutions for current and future challenges.
28 April 2020, Zagreb - EU - WESTERN BALKANS Ministerial Meeting on Employment and Social Policies
Following the informal meeting of Employment and Social Policy Ministers, in cooperation with the European Commission, a meeting will be organized with the Ministers of the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia). The economies of European countries are increasingly interconnected and regular dialogue with non-EU countries needs to be maintained. The need for work force is in constant growth and an increasing number of workers are coming from countries in Croatia's neighbourhood. These processes need to be analysed to ensure a proper balance in our labour markets and security for workers and employers.
12 - 13 May 2020, Dubrovnik - High-level Conference: Skills – a basis for increasing competitiveness and employability
The conference will focus on the importance of skills in the context of strengthening competiveness of workforce and economy of the European Union given the challenges emerging from new industries and rapid technological developments. Representatives of EU institutions, Member States’ governments, social partners and business sector will discuss the necessity of skills forecasting and planning for boosting growth and increasing employability. In this context, the Conference will explore the models for providing continuous training, upskilling and reskilling and their funding sources, notably European Social Fund. Skills acquisition must be made sustainable, inclusive and accessible to as many unemployed and unemployed as possible, but also to companies that have limited resources to implement skills programs.

26 and 27 March 2020, Zagreb - Meeting of the Employment Committee (EMCO) hosted by the PresidencyThe meeting will be dedicated to discussing the impact of demographic trends on the labour market, as well as to adopting part of documents relating to the European Semester, like key indicators of employment and social policy challenges and good labour market outcomes in individual Member States.
14 and 15 May 2020, Dubrovnik - Meeting of the European Social Fund Committee Technical Working Group and Plenary Meeting
The European Social Fund Committee Technical Working Group and Plenary Meeting will be organized will be dedicated to discussing the progress in implementation of the European Social Fund among Member States. In addition, one of the main topics will refer to progress in preparation of programming documents for new financial period 2021-2027 and general update on the process related to future European Social Fund Plus.
The meeting is organized by the European Commission in cooperation with Ministry of Labour and Pension System as Managing Authority for the European Social Fund in Croatia.
28 and 29 May 2020, Zagreb - MISSOC („Mutual information system on social protection“) meeting
MISSOC is a central database for public authorities, professional users and European citizens, providing up-to-date information on social protection legislation, benefits and conditions in all participating countries. The regular semi-annual meeting will discuss current topics in the field of social security.
