ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - Representatives of trade unions and employers on Wednesday signed a new agreement with the minister of labour and pension system on the Economic and Social Council (GSV), a tripartite body aimed at promoting the interests of workers and employers and concluding collective agreements.

The last meeting of the GSV was held in June 2018 and the new collective agreement was concluded because of the newly-established representativeness of higher-level trade union and employer associations, the ministry said in a press release, adding that the GSV would be convened before the end of March.

Today's agreement was signed by Labour Minister Josip Aladrovic on behalf of the government, Kresimir Sever, Mladen Novosel and Vilim Ribic as representatives of higher-level representative unions and Gordana Deranja on behalf of higher-level employer associations.

The document governs the establishment, composition, powers, scope and mode of operation of the GSV at the national level as the highest form of tripartite social dialogue in Croatia.
