eHZMO project: digitising public services for easier access
"The HZMO as the key pension insurance authority processes data for more than 1.5 million insured persons, more than 1,2 million pension recipients and more than 150,000 child benefit recipients," said HZMO director Ivan Serdar at the presentation of the project "Modernisation of the ICT Support of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute - eHZMO."
He underscored that the aim was to enable as many citizens as possible to have services, such as exercising pension rights or claiming child benefit allowances, available online, without having to wait at a counter.
The project is worth HRK 166 million, with more than HRK 141 million co-funded by the European Social Fund and 15% coming from the state budget. The duration of the project is 46 months.
"Due to the increasing mobility of the workforce within the European Union and in third countries, exercising pension rights is an additional challenge," Serdar added.
Labour and Pension System Minister Josip Aladrovic said that the goal of the project was to transform the HZMO into a user-oriented public institution.
"We want to ensure that the services are available digitally and that rights can be exercised in a quick and simple manner. Through such projects, we want to provide citizens with quality, safe and reliable public services," Aladrovic said, expressing hope that the project would serve as an incentive to other public institutions.
